This is a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) elective Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) #3836 online training course offered for Texas Peace Officers, Jailers, and Telecommunicators. LEOSA, the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act, is one of the most often misunderstood laws impacting current and former law enforcement officers. It is far too important a law to be guessed at or to use random posts on Facebook as a guide.
If you are an officer or former officer, you must know whether you can carry a concealed handgun under LEOSA. You need to KNOW this information BEFORE you travel to another jurisdiction.
The information in this course can enhance the knowledge of persons who carry under LEOSA, those issuing LEOSA credentials, and active LEOs who must make on-the-spot decisions during encounters with those claiming a LEOSA defense. Please note, the entire course, final exam(s), and course evaluation(s) must be completed in order to receive two (2) hours of course credit. TCOLE Reporting
