Naloxone Hydrochloride is a generic prescription drug used to aid an individual experiencing an overdose of an opioid substance. Naloxone is sold under the brand names Narcan™ and Evzio™, as well as others. There are several benefits of this drug, but there are many things to consider when deciding whether or not to make its use an everyday part of your peace officer duties. In this course, we outline its intended use, application, and logistics of implementing and administering the drug, as well as its benefits and drawbacks.
