This Instructor Update - How Adults Learn (TCOLE) elective online Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) training course is offered by OSS Academy® for Texas Peace Officers, Jailers, and Telecommunicators.
Law Enforcement instructors come with a wide range of skill sets. Regardless of our talents, our students rely on us to guide them in acquiring the proficiency skills that make them more effective officers, while providing the ability to safely think on their own in a crisis. This course will help you to better understand how adults learn and provide you with practical information and techniques that you can employ to meet the proficiency requirements of your course learning objectives. We do this by discussing traditional learning methods, styles, the use of technology, and the importance of maintaining a class that allows all to be successful learners.
note, the entire course (including any applicable course parts), final
exam(s), and course evaluation(s) must be completed in order to receive two (2) hours of course credit.
After successful course completion, your credit hours will be
reported within two (2) business days by OSS Academy® directly through
TCLEDDS, for Texas Commission on Law Enforcement [TCOLE] credit. You
should have already provided your full and correct name, TCOLE PID
number, and other important information when registering for your
account. If not, go to Edit Profile to update your information. For instructions, go to Frequently Asked Questions,
then search for “How do I input my TCOLE PID number into the training
system?” or "When do you report my TCOLE hours for credit?" Your failure
to provide this information can cause reporting errors or delays in
reporting your course credit. Should you have any questions, simply
