This is a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) elective Proactive Safety and Security Watch in High-Risk Environments #3512 online training course for Texas Peace Officers, Jailers, and Telecommunicators.
Safety and Security duties extend beyond a standard fire watch - they include keeping people safe, protecting property, and ensuring operations run smoothly in places where standard safety measures might not apply.
While these duties began with OSHA rules for fire hazards, law enforcement, healthcare, and detention, officers must look for security risks, unsafe situations, and signs of trouble in all settings.
This Safety and Security Watch role is meant to fill important gaps, like broken safety systems, construction risks, or open entryways.
In the end, Safety and Security Watch is about maintaining control by proactively identifying and resolving issues before they can escalate.
Please note, the entire course, final exam(s), and course evaluation(s) must be completed in order to receive three (3) hours of course credit.
TCOLE Reporting
