This is an  OSS Academy® Basic Firearms Safety course online training course offered for Peace Officers, Jailers, and Telecommunicators.

Whether you are a strong supporter of the Second Amendment Rights to bear arms or, on the other hand, feel that citizen gun ownership was not intended by the founding fathers – one thing is not debatable, gun safety is of utmost importance! Whether you are at work, home, hunting, at the gun range or cleaning a firearm - safety is of paramount importance for you, your family, and others. This course covers a bit of the controversy over firearm ownership, the 2nd Amendment to the US Constitution, statistics for both Law Enforcement Officers, and the civilian population and firearms safety in different environments.

Please note, the entire course, final exam(s), and course evaluation(s) must be completed in order to receive one (1) hour of course credit.
