Eyewitnesses frequently play a vital role in uncovering the truth about a crime, and leading investigators to suspects. The evidence they provide can be critical in identifying, charging, and ultimately convicting suspected criminals. While all this is true, witnesses make mistakes.

This course addresses why it is absolutely essential that eyewitness evidence be accurate and reliable. It provides the student with detailed steps for using proven identification procedures to gain evidence from eyewitnesses. This means following sound protocols related to activities such as Showups, Mug Books and Composites, instructions to witnesses, composing and conducting Photo and Live Lineups, and documenting their results for later use.

Please note, the entire course final exam(s), and course evaluation(s) must be completed in order to receive one (1) hour of course credit.
