This is a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Robbery Response for Banks online training course offered for Texas Peace Officers, Jailers, and Telecommunicators.

Bank robberies accounted for 72 law enforcement officer deaths since the 19th century. Contrary to television shows, bank robbers killing law enforcement officers is not glamorous. Bank robberies are costly to officers even in the 21st century. The magnitude of devastation created by just one single officer death is heartbreaking. The problem has become even more exasperating as the FDIC insurance program creates a societal impression that these are victimless crimes. This course discusses the need for organizational planning, policy development, and equipment for responding officers. It also discusses who has primary investigative responsibility, if the financial institution is insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation [FDIC]. 

Please note, the entire course final exam(s), and course evaluation(s) must be completed in order to receive one (1) hour of course credit.

TCOLE Reporting
