This is a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) elective Undercover Operations: Into the Shadows #3200 online training course for Texas Peace Officers, Jailers, and Telecommunicators. One of the most effective and strategic methods law enforcement uses to infiltrate criminal organizations is through undercover operations. Officers who conduct these operations unlock evidence that may not be possible through traditional methods. They gain insight into criminal organizations and their key players. They reveal systems and activities often unseen by uniform patrols and offer law enforcement a tool to combat some of the most covert crimes. Undercover operations have become a standard part of law enforcement work. They require careful planning, dedicated participants, and a supportive agency to be successful. In this course, we will discuss several different facets of undercover operations and will prepare you to utilize one of the most powerful tools available to enforcement efforts. Please note, the entire course, final exam(s), and course evaluation(s) must be completed in order to receive two (2) hours of course credit.
TCOLE Reporting
